This work provides an analysis of transplantation in the perspective of Islamic law. On the basis of literary research, the writer contends that muslims have responded the since 9 centuries ago in the from of dynamic disputes over whether or not the transplantion is legally permissible according to Islamic law. The controversies among the pros and cons stand at the law principles as follows; a] the principle of true ownership of human body; b] the necessity of safeguarding the dignity and nobility of human body; c] the prohibition of changing the from of God's creatures; d] the suggestion of medicating diseases; e] the good feature of self-sacrifice for the sake of others, and; f] requirement by emergency law on the exceptional circumstances. Even though the Qua'an and Hadith do not provide an explicit pronouncement, it has comonly been acknowledged that transplantation can be justified to be undertaken provided the normal way can not halt the exacerbation of diseases. syur.
